Mark Ruffalo is doing special things with the Incredible Hulk. For one, he has claimed the role of Bruce Banner for more than one movie. Since it seems like he's here to stay, it's interesting to see what direction the character will take, and one prediction is Planet Hulk. When asked by IGN where Hulk may be headed, Ruffalo mentioned that a Planet Hulk movie has been discussed by Marvel.

"Well, he's going to space. Yeah, I mean there's some talk of maybe Planet Hulk," Ruffalo told IGN. "I'd be completely interested in entertaining that [idea]."

With 2016's Captain America: Civil War and 2017's Thor: Ragnarok set to shake the foundation of the Marvel Universe, there's a chance we may be seeing Hulk shot up into space just as he was in the comics. The possibility might be even greater, especially since 2018 and 2019's Infinity War movies will be finishing up the space tyrant Thanos's storyline that began at the end of the first Avengers film. The more space we see in the Marvel films, the more of a chance we have at seeing Planet Hulk play out.

If you've never read the Planet Hulk series, it's pretty damn cool. It starts just before the Marvel Civil War, where Hulk is shot into space. With an impending battle between heroes, the movers and shakers of the Marvel universe felt he would be too dangerous if he were to pick a side.

Hulk ends up crash landing on a planet where its rulers attempt to enslave him. If Tony Stark and pretty much everyone else in the Marvel universe couldn't pull that off, you can guess how it ended for his alien slavers.

Planet Hulk culminated with Hulk as king of an entire planet. Naturally, it didn't have a happy ending, as the ship he used to travel to the alien planet exploded and killed his new bride. Seeing this all play out on the big screen would be nothing but awesome.
