The WWE and UFC have been doing a lot of cross promotions as of late, and it looks like another fighter from the octagon might be coming over to the sports entertainment realm. Next month, former UFC fighter Matt Riddle will be participating in a WWE tryout in Orlando. Riddle may not be a marquee name like Ronda Rousey, but he did find quite a bit of success in Ultimate Fighting Championship.

When Riddle was released from UFC, it wasn't due to performance because he was coming off a four-fight winning streak. The reason for Riddle's release was due to failing two drug tests, where he tested positive for marijuana. Since the release, he fought in one MMA fight under the Titan FC brand, but left the sport for good after that one fight.

In his MMA career, Riddle was 8-3-2 and has a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. He found his way into the world of UFC as an understudy to Matt Serra in Ultimate Fighter. Dana White called his knockout against Dan Simmler the biggest in Ultimate Fighter history. In the opening seconds of the second round, Riddle knocked his opponent out by breaking his opponent's jaw in two places.

Since leaving MMA, Riddle has been training in the Monster Factory wrestling school. He has been in several independent shows and his biggest match to date took place this weekend when he took on Ring of Honor wrestler Rhett Titus.

You have to think his Orlando tryout next month will go well. Going into that, he'll probably have the most experience in terms of doing battle in front of big crowds. He might even be the only wrestler in that tryout with the type of TV experience he has. Having a guy like Dana White praise your work is no easy feat.
