There is only one episode left for the final Season 6 of Justified on FX. Based on the popular crime novels by the late author Elmore Leonard, the series finale concludes with the showdown between Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins), and Ava Crowder (Joelle Cater).
As we previously mentioned, in the penultimate episode, Boyd murdered an innocent man, (guest star Shea Whigham), who drove him to the mountaintop. During his intense shootout with Raylan, Boyd then filled Constable Bob (Patton Oswalt) with lead, distracting his former best friend. With Bob's status unknown, Boyd had an explosive confrontation with Zachariah. Ava (Joelle Carter) was finally captured by Avery Markham (Sam Eliott)'s corrupt police officers and held hostage.
Here are 5 reasons why we'll miss Justified after the series finale:
5) No More Shootouts
Because creator/showrunner Graham Yost envisioned Justified as modern day western, the show had the best shootouts. One of the best shootouts was between Colton Rhodes (Ron Eldard) and Tim Gutterson (Jacob Pitts). But who could forget the first shootout, in the cold opening of the pilot, between Raylan and Thomas Buckley (Peter Greene)!
4) No More Big Bads
If you've read the Elmore Leonard novels, then you know the criminals are usually high school dropouts and everyone has their style of speaking. This season, in particular, you had the very sex-as-hell Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen) and the very creepy Boon (Jonathan Tucker). Who else liked the return of Limehouse (Mykelti Williamson), who seems to get away with everything? I still feel bad knowing we lost Choo Choo (Duke Davis Roberts), the quintessential Elmore Leonard baddie.
3) No More Emmy-Worthy Performances
Sam Elliott shows up this season on Justified as Avery Markham, reuniting with his Deadwood co-star. The Big Lebowski actor got rid of his trademark mustache to for his role. You know why? Because he wants his Emmy! How awesome was the scene between Elliott and Art Mullen (Nick Searcy)! But still, I don't think there was a better big bad than Mags Bennett (Margo Martindale).
2) No More Poetry In Motion
Just like the Elmore Leonard novels, the dialogue is crucial to each character. The English have Shakespeare and the Americans have Elmore Leonard. Goggins and Olyphant have perfected Leonard-speak since the first season. Every word that comes out of their mouth just sounds so cool.
1) No More Raylan and Boyd Quotes
How many of us wanted to shout out "I am the outlaw!" after Boyd belted it out? How many of us had a bad day and just wanted to say Raylan's line, "You ever hear of the saying, 'You run into an a**hole in the" morning, you ran into an a**hole. You run into a**holes all day, you start thinking you're the a**hole?'" I am really going to miss this show.
Justified airs one last time Tuesday, at 10pm on FX.
