The beloved Dingle Dolphin Fungi is not dead although Twitter blew up with rumors of its false death.  Until now, mostly Hollywood celebrities were victimized in death hoaxes on the web.  The famous dolphin who has graced the Co Kerry Harbour in Ireland attracting many tourists is alive and well.

Fungi even has a statue created after him.  Independant.ie reported that when the rumors surfaced, the harbor office still sent out a boat to check on the dolphin.  The usual life span of such dolphin is between 30 - 50 years.

"Every year now is a bonus and we've had almost 30 years already but you'd never know, he could live for 20 more," Jimmy Flannery, the chairman of The Dingle Boatman's Association said.

Another spokesperson from the Dolphin Boat Tours claimed that the dolphin seen flipping and doing its usual thing.

She said, "The weather is too bad today but I can confirm I saw him yesterday alive and well. He is definitely still alive. The rumours aren't true."

Take care Fungi!
