"He's definitely ready. We played a behind-closed-doors game here on Monday, which he and a few of the other players that have been out played in," the manager said. "Steven's fine. The most important thing is his availability. He's a special footballer, Steven, and Wembley is somewhere he knows very well. So whether he plays or doesn't play, he'll be a very important member of the squad for us on the day.

Meanwhile, Villa's Tim Sherwood confirmed he's starting goalkeeper Shay Given today.

"Shay plays. Absolutely," he told the media. "He's done nothing wrong Shay, he's a large part of the reason we're in this semi-final. The saves he made against Leicester were fantastic and at the right time. He trains fantastically well and he's pushing Brad all the way for that No.1 spot."
