Nicki Minaj Pink Friday Perfume Ad, An Explosion of Pink (WATCH VIDEO)

Nicki Minaj continues to catch her fans off guard with her provocative fashion sense. In a commercial for her new Pink Friday fragrance, the artist takes a different route to promote the product.

According to MTV News, the commercial is nothing short of a colorful explosion. The ad features Minaj lying in a bed filled with black roses. She then picks one of the black roses up and pricks her finger on a thorn, and as she begins to bleed, she releases a flood of pink to all her surroundings

The rapper also wears pink contact lenses to enhance the effect of her eyes, while her body slowly turns into a shimmering gold. Her song "Freedom" can be heard playing in the background while everything around her turns into a pink wonderland of roses.

The bottle of the perfume has many similar features of the artist. The bottle has a pink wig and a pink lipstick, not to mention a gold "Nicki Minaj" necklace.

Minaj told MTV News that she knew she was going to name her perfume Pink Friday.

"I've been thinking about [a fragrance] for like, the last two years actually; I knew I was going to call it Pink Friday," she said. "I didn't know I would have a pink wig on the bottle until I met with the fragrance company and they asked me what I wanted my bottle to look like and I said - is there any way we can put a pink wig on it?"

The rapper advertises her new perfume on YouTube, luring those who visit the social website to go ahead and watch her video.

In addition to her Pink Friday fragrance, Minaj also has an OPI nail polish line and MAC Viva Glam campaign under her belt.

Minaj's Pink Friday perfume is available for purchase at Macy's.
