After viewers have been binge-watching since the premiere, Netflix has announced Season 2 of its superhero series, Marvel's Daredevil. There will be a few changes for the man without fear as executive producer Steven S. DeKnight steps down and adds new show runners Doug Petrie (American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy).
As we previously mentioned, Matt Murdock (Cox) was a young boy when he was struck blind after a near fatal car accident. Though everyone thinks he lives in complete darkness, radioactive chemicals have given him back his sight. By day, Murdock pretends to be a blind lawyer attending courtroom battles. But when darkness falls, Daredevil serves out his own brand of justice protecting Hell's Kitchen against crime.
According to Marvel, the Netflix show has been a smash success with audiences and critics alike. smash success with both audiences and critics. After having worked with DeKnight and creator Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods), Petrie and Ramirez have been promoted to showrunners.
DeKnight explains why he will be stepping down, "While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season. I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can't wait to see what they do with the show moving forward."
As we previously mentioned, work is already under for Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones, with Krysten Ritter in the lead role. Mike Colter will show up as Marvel's Luke Cage sometime in 2016.
