Back in September, an intruder wielding a pair of scissors and claiming to be pop star Miley Cyrus' husband was arrested and locked behind bars for trespassing and burglary. Although Cyrus wasn't home at the time and the man (40-year-old Jason Rivera) still currently resides in jail, the 19-year-old songstress claims that she is utterly terrified and wants even more security and protection from the raving lunatic. And it looks like a Los Angeles judge agrees - the "Party in the U.S.A." songstress was recently granted a three-year restraining order against the scissor-brandishing, trespassing culprit.
On the morning of September 8, police responded to a call that a man was outside Cyrus' LA home, baring a pair of green-and-black scissors and banging manically on the front door, demanding to see his wife. When law enforcement arrived Rivera was hiding in a bush - officers threatened to Taser him if he did not come out with his hands up so the intruder willingly obliged. Upon further inspection, Cyrus' "stalker" was found to have scissors, money, ID, and notes in his possession - including a large pink heart cutout tucked underneath his shirt.
After being charged, Rivera was sentenced in October to serve a year-and-a-half in jail. Even so, Cyrus' newly obtained restraining order states that Rivera must stay at least 1,000 yards away from the pop princess at all times and remain out of contact - for three years. Court documents state that if Rivera gets out of jail and violates the terms of the restraining order, he could find himself right back in custody.
Take that, all you Miley Cyrus stalkers!
