Joe Simpson has pleaded no contest in his driving under influence case and will serve three years of probation besides attending to alcohol education class, said media reports.
Joe has been sentenced to 36 months' probation, fined $390 plus penalties and ordered to complete a three-month alcohol-education program, reported E! News.
According to reports, Simpson didn't show up at the courtroom but he moved the "no contest" plea by his lawyer.
Joe was pulled over by cops in August on Ventura Boulevard in the Sherman Oaks in California for driving under influence. It was reported that he had blood-alcohol level of over .08 when he was stopped by the cops. Later, he was arrested and was placed in slammer for a night.
Joe has been in middle of several controversies, including speculations over his alleged feelings for men. The 52-years-old father of Jessica Simpson was allegedly leaving a secret gay life. However, Joe had rubbished reports about his lust for same sex.
Meanwhile, his wife Tina sought divorce from him citing "discord or conflict of personalities" in their married life.
