We can't wait to see Channing Tatum as Gambit, but will we get to see him in the spring of 2016 in X-Men: Apocalypse or will we have to wait for the fall of the same year, when the release date of a standalone film is set? According to Tatum, he'd like to have the standalone film be the introduction of the rebooted character rather than showing up in the ensemble cast of Bryan Singer's new film. Which would you prefer? Speaking with MTV recently, the Magic Mike XXL star addressed the heated question of whether or not we'll see his new comic book film character in the next X-Men movie.
"You know, I don't know if I'm at liberty to say," he responded, adding, "I don't think I want to introduce Gambit until you can really explain who Gambit is."

This little tease from Tatum makes us wonder what other reports were thinking last month when Gambit was rumored as a cameo appearance in Apocalypse. You can read more on this report here!
Slash Film explains that, even though Tatum would prefer to debut Gambit in a standalone movie, it's not up to him. If producers and/or the studio want to see the character in Apocalypse, it's going to happen! Though, some would argue that the actor's star power could make the studio want to please the star in any way.
In other words, we're just going to have to wait and see what happens in 2016!
