David Letterman is gearing up to leave his famed Late Show series on CBS. To celebrate – if that's the correct word – the comedian is having some of his favorite people on to wish him farewell. One of whom happens to be Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee host Jerry Seinfeld. The comedian stopped by last night, briefly touched on his web series – which has just dropped the lineup for a new season – and proceeded to scold letterman for quitting his Late Show spot.
And mind you, Seinfeld is one of Letterman's "favorite" people...
On Letterman's talk show, Seinfeld commented ... in Letterman's seat, by the way ... "You could do this as long as you wanted to. This whole quitting idea is the stupidest thing I've ever heard."
Oddly enough, the legendary comic agreed with the Seinfeld star. "You're exactly right."
Seinfeld added, "I want you to tell me two things: 1) what you think you're doing by quitting, and what the hell you're gonna do that makes you feel like you did the right thing."
Letterman, well, blamed it on his wife.
In Part 2 of the interview, which proceeded with Letterman in the guest seat and Seinfeld in the host chair, the two discussed their families, which Seinfeld equated to an "infinity wheel of Hell."
So, that's nice.
Take a look at Part 2 below:
The final episode of Late Show with David Letterman will be this coming May 20, 2015.
