According to some new reports, we can forget about what happened in the dismal Jurassic Park sequels, The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 because the upcoming 2015 blockbuster, Jurassic World is allegedly ignoring the events of those films! That's right, the upcoming movie, which stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, is set up as a direct sequel to the original film. In fact, director Colin Trevorrow has explained that his movie will pay tribute to Steven Spielberg's masterpiece film!

In a new feature about the highly anticipated film over at Yahoo, we learn that Trevorrow is pushing aside the previous sequels in order to have more of a direct link to the original Spielberg film. In fact, the reason why he's "ignoring" the other movies is because he wants to use Jurassic World to thank Spielberg for the original 1993 film, in a way.
"I felt like I had a responsibility to do it," the director explained, according to UPROXX. "Mostly for Steven, in thanks for all he's done for all of us and how much his movies meant to me in my childhood. But also, if one is asked to do this, it's almost insulting to everyone else to say no. We'd all love this privilege - to be able to re-create a film that meant so much to us."
As we've seen in a number of TV spots, teaser trailers and extended previews, this could be the film that comes the closest to the original it is following. The aspect of a theme park is obviously there instead of an open island or an abandoned park, but the feel of humans trying to control these beasts is what really shines through.
