A cab driver in Singapore found $1.1 million dollars ($900,000) in thousand dollar Singapore bills in a black bag in his car. Sia Ka Tian is a 31-year veteran in driving cabs and realized the Thai couple that were on vacation had left the lump sum of cash in his cab.
The 70-year-old didn't even consider to pocket the money and decided to turn the money in immediately, "When I saw the money, I thought, trouble is here," Tian said. "I was sure there was at least Sg$200,000 in the bag." The diligent worker notified the ComfortDeIGro company and the company spokesman, Tammy Tan was still baffled by the cabbie's find and return, "Finding one million dollars in cash is not an everyday affair," Tan added, "And in fact, we wonder how many people would have possibly been tempted to pocket it. We are immensely proud of him and are glad that the passengers recovered their money."
The cab driver had no interest in the cash in the black anonymous bag,"The money is unimportant to me. It doesn't belong to me, so how can I use it?" Because of his kindhearted return, the grateful couple gave the driver an unidentified reward. In 2009, one of the cab company's driver turned in 11 pounds of gold bars worth $377,000.
Makes you wonder why people are carrying so much money around?
