A South American concert promoter in Guyana recently canceled a Chris Brown stadium show after local protests broke out over the R&B star's domestic abuse case involving pop princess Rihanna back in 2009. Brown was set to headline the Guyana venue on Dec. 26, but was forced to cancel after several women's rights groups and opposition lawyers took to the streets to avidly protest the 23-year-old "Don't Wake me Up" crooner. Although recent reports confirm that Brown and his former flame RiRi are actually trying to patch things up romantically, some people are still obviously fuming about his past domestic violence and assault which left the Barbadian beauty devastatingly battered and bruised.
Concert promoter Hits & Jams Entertainment announced on Thursday (Nov. 22) that Brown officially backed out of the show because he was distressed and worried about the growing protests. Brown has recently attempted to repair his tarnished image since the 2009 assault charges -he has undergone violence counseling and even founded a new charity deemed Symphonic Love, a program that "supports and creates arts programs for youth while encouraging every day public service, respect and kindness." Even so, it looks like the "F.A.M.E." singer is still not welcomed or wanted by many individuals of the South American sovereign state.
Brown was also set to open for the Irish acoustic hip-hop band the Original Rudeboys in Dublin on Dec. 3, but he was turned down once again for his highly-publicized domestic abuse charges. The Original Rudeboys made it obvious that they don't want to be associated with the "Carpe Diem" star.
While Brown has received forgiveness from thousands of fans and Rihanna herself, it looks like he still has much to prove in order to fully clear his name.
