Back in February, the Kardashian clan undertook dual milestones. First was that their show, Keeping up with the Kardashians, reached its tenth season. The next was that they signed a $100 million deal to stay on the E! Network for the next four years. The brainchild behind the deal of course is none other than Kim Kardashian West. According to Kim, the 34-year-old reality star who made $28 million in 2014, she has grown up studying business her whole life and that mentality was passed down to her from her father Robert Kardashian.

In an interview for Variety, Kardashian West says her father Robert told her to sign contracts for everything. Her earliest contract came at 16-years-old at the hands of a lucrative fender bender.

"I was in bumper-to-bumper traffic, and I tapped someone," she told Variety. "It was so not a big deal, but I had to pay for it. It was during the O.J. trial. They saw my last name and said, "Kardashian, your dad's that lawyer?!" They sued me for a lot of money. After I paid them back, I kept on working to buy myself some clothes."

As Kardashian West grew older her first real business venture came when she created a business cleaning out the closets of her celebrity friends and selling the clothes on eBay. Her business became so successful she was even featured on Paris Hilton's reality show The Simple Life. In one episode she was known as "closet organizer."

Then there was her infamous 2007 sex tape that she spun into a $5 million deal with Vivid Entertainment. With all eyes on her, she took the attention from that and an opportunity to have a TV show arose.

"When the opportunity for our TV show came about, I wanted to do it to bring attention to our (Dash) stores," Kardashian West continued in the interview. "I was thinking this might not last very long, but we'll grow a great business and expand online. I thought it would be great press. I didn't think it would turn into what it turned into."
