One Direction Star Zayn Malik and The Wanted's Max George may be putting boxing gloves on after their 'twitter spat.' Things may have gone too far after Zayn called Max a "wannabe".

Earlier, in an interview with Entertainmentwise,  Tom Parker and Max expressed that they wanted to meet with the other group to work out their differences, Nathan told OMG, "I think it's just the press blowing it all up in all honesty. I think Louis is quite annoyed about something but he ain't quite said what it is yet." Max continued, "I'm not sure why, I think we upset them, or I upset them when I said they're like the new Jonas Brothers. I'm actually a fan of the Jonas Brothers and that's not a lie."

The two exchanged words saying via twitter which stirred up fans and media to assume that the boy band beef is escalating,"@MaxTheWanted p.s your display just how's how much of a wannabe you are :)", Zayn tweeted.

"@MaxTheWanted I'm not sure why your still talking to me mate conversation ended when I called you a geek". Max responded: "@zaynmalik does that mean I'm 'in'?" to which Zayn shot back: "@MaxTheWanted the first step is acceptance #geekoftheweek".

Immediately fans began to jump in the war to defend their favorite boy band member, Zayn joked, "Clearly some people are not very familiar with flirting :)".  In light of the comments Max also added, "No dramas peeps its all just flirting! Haha." Max continued, "@zaynmalik that's right gorgeous".

Could there be a boy band boxing match soon?
