In order to avoid any further (legal) drama, aspiring Cash Money emcee Young Thug officially changed his new mixtape's name from Carter 6 to Barter 6. The entire situation still made a rather huge mockery of Birdman's current industry foe, Lil Wayne. But that won't stop up-and-coming music producer Wheezy from working with the YMCMB superstar...
Wheezy (that's right, Weezy with an added "h") helped assemble much of Thugga's highly-anticipated release. He worked on eight of the 13 tracks, while Thug's longtime producer London on da Track took a backseat. According to HotNewHipHop.com:
Aside from the [Weezy] controversy, though, Wheezy brought a unique sound to 'Barter 6' - low, playful, and very drugged-out, as you can hear on "Constantly Hating" - that's gonna keep his name in the mix for a long time.
Do MstarsNews readers agree? Or more importantly, does Wayne?
Because Wheezy could really care less about the hip-hop "tension" - he'd snag a chance to work with the YMCMB rap icon!
"My take on the situation is that Thug and Wayne are in two different lanes: Thug is a rising star and Lil Wayne is an icon," the Atlanta native explains in a recent interview with Complex magazine. "Both should make more music [together], and I would like to work with Wayne in the near future. Nothing but up from here, you dig?"
Would Weezy accept that offer - maybe just to throw things back in Thug's face [again]?
Meanwhile, Wheezy's still busy at work on other projects. For example, Thug's upcoming debut album Hy!£UN35 (well, Hi-Tunes). According to Wheezy, the record is "Barter 6 times 10 and overdosing on drugs." Interesting...
And still, the release of Wayne's The Carter 6 remains a total mystery. And where's the #FWA? Stay tuned...
