'19 Kids & Counting' Derick Dillard Gets Braces Following Son Israel's Birth

He might have just introduced baby Israel into the world earlier this month, but Derick Dillard is about to become a whole new man. No the 19 Kids and Counting star isn't about to go under the knife to get a face lift or anything drastic like that, but he is getting some work done on a part of his face. While he might be 26, Jill Duggar's hubby has decided that he would like to upgrade his appearance — his smile, to be more specific. That's right, Dillard is now the proud owner of a shiny new set of braces.

According to Radar Online, the star decided that he wanted his smile to be just as beautiful as his new baby boy, Israel, and decided to get ceramic braces shortly after welcoming his baby into the world with Jill on April 6.

The Daily Mail posted that the Walmart employee decided to go with the ceramic kind of braces for the simple reason that they are less noticeable in pictures and in person. While they are more expensive than the steel ones, Derick decided that it was worth shelling out the extra coin.

The site also goes on to make the assumption that Dillard got the work done while he was on paternity leave from his accounting job at the super store. While both he and Jill have posted pictures following the arrival of their son, the braces are not noticable in any of them. The money was definitely worth it.

While Derick's overbite and crooked teeth have always been noticeable, fans are going to get to see a whole new smile from the star. We are sure that it will be a storyline on one of the upcoming episodes of the reality series, and we are equally sure that the new father will be posting before and after pictures on his Instagram account.

Derick joins the long list of Duggar family members who have choosen to get dental work done over the years, including his sister-in-law Jessa Duggar.
