The S.M. artists who compile SMTown performed each of their hit individual songs as well as several collaboration and group musical performances from unit bands "Super Junior-M" and "Girls' Generation's Taetiseo" - totally an outstanding 51 songs in a 4 hour concert time frame.
The SMTown Live World Tour III kicked off in L.A. in May and made its way to Tokyo, Taipei, Seoul, and finally Singapore. The tour recently ended in Bangkok, Thailand on Nov. 25.
The infamous SMTown compilation concert takes approximately 96 hours to set up, with equipment coming from multiple countries across Asia including South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. According to reports, the show's total production value is estimated at $5 million (half of that amount mostly spent on pyrotechnics and extravagant staging).
The Float at Marina Bay is lauded as the world's largest floating stage, measuring approximately 394 feet long and 273 meters wide. It is a prestigious venue in Singapore where national events are usually held, so the fact that a commercial/musical performance was permitted to take place on the floating stage was a rather monumental event.
At a press conference held before the highly-anticipated Singapore show, many members of the SMTown crew claimed that they were excited to finally be able to perform in the city and that the view from the Float at Marina Bay would truly be a beautiful, remarkable sight.
