What's more ironic than selfies being banned at a book signing for a Kim Kardashian book titled Selfish? Fans who camped out for more than 24 hours before the event at New York City's Barnes & Nobles were instructed by store managers and Kardashian's handlers that they were not to take pictures of themselves. The only reason they gave was that they needed to keep the line moving.

According to the Daily News, the fans banned from taking selfies came from all over. Alaina Abels, 26, left her Philadelphia home at 3:45 a.m. to reach the bookstore by 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. A 16-year-old New Jersey teenager even cut school in order to meet the queen of reality television at the Barnes & Nobles.

"She's amazing," the teenager told the Daily News.

Kardashian claims the point of her book is to show that selfies are more than just something to pass time on Instagram. To her, they're art. She believes it's a way to document her life and a means to connect with her fans.

In the book, fans get to see some early snapshots that are more than ten-years-old. They will also be able to see screen shots of her on set, the early pictures of her and Kanye West and some of the earliest pictures of her child North.

According to a review in the Daily News, Selfish will be just as much a part of pop art history as Andy Warhol's works.

"Kim Kardashian already broke the internet. Now she's poised to break the best-seller lists. ... It's easy to mock – indeed, the title almost does it for you – but this seemingly throw-away collection may end up being just as much a part of pop-art history as when Andy Warhol painted soup cans."
