Adam Levine Slams The Roxy on The Voice: Maroon 5 Dressing Room Snub, LA Nightclub Responds with Snide Twitpic [VIDEO]

On Monday night's episode of "The Voice," judge Adam Levine lashed out against the infamous Sunset Strip nightclub the Roxy for supposedly once snubbing his band (Maroon 5) of dressing room privileges. Levine even went on to say that the Roxy is a horrible venue and that no one in their right mind should ever go there. And how did the popular LA nightclub respond to Levine's prime-time slam - by posting an even snider remark on Twitter, of course (through a picture, nonetheless)! At one point during the reality singing competition that aired on Nov. 26, Levine went off on a Roxy rant (when reminiscing about when his band used to open for pop star Michelle Branch) - "I remember we opened for her at the Roxy, and they didn't even give us a dressing room. I hate the Roxy. I'll never play there again." When a singing contestant tried to come to the L.A. venue's defense, Levine lashed back with, "Oh, the Roxy is horrible. Don't ever go there...They screwed us over. And now they're paying for it."

Ouch.

Initially the head honchos over at the Roxy didn't know exactly how to take Levine's remarks -this tweet was sent out on Monday night:

@theroxy: "Ummm, what was that about? cc: @adamlevine."

But then the hit venue/theater decided to get even:

@theroxy: We have officially named our dressing room after @AdamLevine ;) #teamroxy #thevoice."

Looks like things are getting a little feisty!

Levine has gone on raving rants against a number of other popular networks - MTV (only pretends to care about music), "American Idol" (encourages gay contestants to hide their true sexuality), Fox News (an evil f**cking channel)... - but what do Mstarz fans think about the Roxy's rather sassy response to Levine's harsh words?

Following Levine's slamming of the Roxy, owner Nic Adler released this statement to Yahoo! News:

"Maroon 5 played the Roxy at least five times. Adam's [previous band] Kara's Flowers played there like every weekend. I use Maroon 5 as an example of a hard-working band that played the Sunset Strip and played the clubs and blew up. And so when he said that...you know, the Roxy has no control over dressing rooms. If Michelle Branch is playing, it's Michelle Branch's show. And if her management says, 'I want Michelle in this dressing room and I want her band in this other dressing room,' we're at the mercy of the headliner. For a band to think dressing rooms define how we treat bands is crazy."

And as for Michelle Branch? The songstress has spoken out in the Roxy's defense, insisting that dressing rooms are never assigned and that there must have been some sort of mix-up - "I'm sure it wasn't the Roxy's fault. Most likely my band was given one room and I was given the other per my contract."
