Nina Dobrev is about to trade in her fangs for a whole new life. The Vampire Diaries starlet is saying goodbye to the supernatural teen drama later this week, and fans are dreading seeing her go. However, Dobrev might be breathing a sigh of relief as leaving the series means not having to run into her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder every day on set. While the lovebirds have remained intertwined onscreen, it doesn't seem like the end of their relationship was as intense as it was portrayed in the media. In fact, Nina had nothing but kind words to say when asked about her former love and his new wife Nikki Reed.
According to Us Weekly, the star only had nice things to say about Ian now that her time on the CW series is coming to an end.
"I've said this before, that we didn't break up because anything had happened or because there wasn't love or friendship," the star explained to E! News earlier this week. "I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him. And that didn't change. Yes, we're professional and that's fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now."

It appears that Nina is putting it all in the past, as she had nothing but kind words to say now that Ian is a married man.
"When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful," the starlet admitted. "They look happy and I am happy, and so I don't see why there should be a problem with that ... Of course, we're on a teen drama show, everyone's going to look for drama ... I just ignore it."
Now that she is leaving the show, it seems like her life might be less dramatic.
