Lil Wayne should just ignore aspiring Cash Money Records emcee Young Thug - he's no real competition. At least according to infamous "The Breakfast Club" radio host Charlamagne Tha God, who really has no interest in listening to any of Thug's music...
In a recent interview with VladTV, Charlamagne offers the "Lifestyle" rapper a rather harsh critique in regards to upholding a successful career in hip-hop:
"I'm gonna be honest with you, I haven't heard it [Thug's new mixtape album, Barter 6]. I have no desire to hear it. I have nothing against Young Thug, [I] don't know the young man, I'm just not interested in his music," the outspoken Power 105.1 deejay reveals. "I don't know what the fuck he's saying. It's just not for me. I'm 34-years old, I like rappers that I can actually understand [and] rappers that can articulate very well. The shit he's on, I ain't on it."
Do MstarsNews readers actually agree? Wait - are Weezy's rhymes any more clearer!?
Charlamagne believes that the Rich Gang hypeman can't even compare to the YMCMB superstar:
"You're playing yourself. You're setting yourself up for failure, Young Thug and I'ma tell you why. Be the best Young Thug you can be because people fuck with Young Thug. People like Young Thug. He only sold 18,000 records [in] his first week, so whatever fan base you do have, keep capitalizing off of that and keep being the best Young Thug you can be. You can't be that young man Lil Wayne."
He continues:
"Two years from now it's a great chance we won't even be talking about Young Thug. It's a great chance. Let me give you a great example: LL Cool J [and] Canibus. LL, OG, legend, mad equity. Here comes this new guy named Canibus. He comes out, gets at him, second round knockout, goes right after him, puts the mic on his arm - where is Canibus now?"
In fact, fans should start paying more attention to Rich Homie Quan:
"I like Rich Homie Quan better than Young Thug," he says. "I think Rich Homie Quan is actually dope. I like Rich Homie Quan. I hate that dance he be doing. I don't know what the fuck is going on with that dance, that shit look silly to me, but Rich Homie Quan makes good records. He makes other people's records sound good when he's on there doing hooks and stuff. I personally like Rich Homie Quan more than Young Thug. I think Rich Homie Quan is gon' be around longer than Young Thug."
