After making her way from the blockbuster Captain America movies, Marvel's Agent Carter will be returning for Season 2 on ABC. In the upcoming new season, will Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) find "new love" in a Los Angles after moving on from Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)' death?
In our previous recap, Dr. Ivanchenko had hypnotized Roger (Shea Whigham) and strapped a bomb to his chest. Carter couldn't stop Roger as he grabbed a gun, ran across the room, and jumped to his death. While SSR headquarters felt the shockwave of the bomb explosion, Ivanchenko unleashed Howard Starks' nerve gas, which killed every moviegoer in the theater. Before Roger died, Peggy promised she would do whatever it took to put stop Leviathan.
In our finale recap, Peggy had to race against the clock as Ivanchenko hypnotized Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) to do his bidding. After rescuing Stark from death, Peggy still had the matter of Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan) to deal with. Though Peggy pushed her enemy out the window, Dottie managed to escape and is still at large.
As we previously mentioned, ABC has greenlit a second season for Agent Carter and a third season for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. We are waiting to hear if the period drama will stay as a 8 episode miniseries when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is on hiatus, or if the new season will have more episodes. On her official Twitter account, Attwell shared a snapshot, promising "new missions."
According to Entertainment Weekly, the plot synopsis for the second season follows, "Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home - and perhaps even a new love - she's about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect."
