The Season 3 of the crime thriller, The Following, meets its series finale on Fox with Episodes 14 and 15. Haunted by the death of Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), will Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) save Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) before he takes down Theo (Michael Ealy)?
As we previously mentioned, after chasing him down and putting an end to his followers, Hardy (Bacon) witnessed the execution of his nemesis and closest ally, Carroll (Purefoy). With the news of fatherhood on the way, Ryan has to sober up and find a way to regain his lost sanity. After killing Theo's sister though, Ryan has an enemy who will not give up until his vendetta is fulfilled.
In the shocking closing moments of Last Trade, Mike (Ashmore) confessed his true feelings for Max (Jessica Stroup). He never stopped loving her, even after they ended their relationship. Things were looking up for Max and Mike as the two lovebirds appeared to be getting back together. But Mark/Luke (Sam Underwood) showed up, ruining the intimate moment, stabbing Mike in the back.
During their final confrontation, just as Mark/Luke got his hands on Max, Mike emptied his clip, filling his chest full of bullets.
According to TV Line, Dead or Alive picks up moments after the bloodbath. About to lose her last nerves, Max is shaken and drenched in tears, watching Mike being taken to the emergency room. The doctors realize the stabbing Mike endured was worse than they originally expected. When Ryan shows up to comfort her, Max breaks down and holds him tightly.
While Mike's fate is in question, as we previously mentioned, Annet Mahendru (The Americans) makes her appearance as a female assassin.
