Kristin Cavallari Admits 'The Hills' was Fake, Girl Fights with 'Laguna Beach' Frenemy Lauren Conrad were Definitely Real [VIDEO]

Infamous MTV reality star Kristin Cavallari recently appeared on an episode of Bravo channel's "Watch What Happens Live" with host Andy Cohen, where the 25-year-old finally confessed that most of MTV's hit reality drama "The Hills" was indeed fake and staged. While Cavallari admits that her ongoing feud with frenemy Lauran Conrad was pretty much legit - other than that, MTV producers basically put things into the young Laguna Beach socialite's head, making sure that she was at the center of many bogus fights and relationships.

When Cohen asked the reality star just how fake "The Hills" was on Monday evening's episode (Dec. 3), the blonde beauty admitted that everything was "pretty fake," with "fake fights" and "fake relationships" (yup, that includes her fling with supposed ex-beau Justin Bobby, apparently the two didn't even date!). Even so, Cavallari didn't really mind having to fake it in the reality stardom limelight, admitting, "It was fun... because [when] you're acting, it was more fun for me."

Cavallari confesses that one thing was real in regards to her MTV reality fame - her distaste for "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" co-star Lauren Conrad. The duo was involved in a high school love triangle with heartthrob Stephen Colletti which started in the first season (2004) - such hostile sentiments went unresolved even heading into the final third season in 2006. The feud then carried over into the spinoff reality series "The Hills" (Cavallari joined the cast mid-season 5 in order to replace the Paper Crown designer as she went off to pursue "bigger and better things").

When Cohan asked Cavallari to say three nice things about Conrad, the new mom replied: "She is a very pretty girl... she's very successful, and we actually have had a lot of really fun nights together, so she can be a lot of fun." Even if Cavallari and Conrad still aren't the best of friends, the fiancée of Jay Cutler admits that MTV is again mostly to blame - "I feel like [producers] put things in our heads. I mean, we were 17 and 18. They made it a lot worse than it was."

The fact that "The Hills" and "Laguna Beach" were basically staged soap operas rather than actual reality shows shouldn't come as much of a surprise to many fans - the last scene of the 2010 "The Hills" series finale showed the camera panning out to reveal a Hollywood set. Cavallari's former co-star and ex-boyfriend Brody Jenner told MTV News at the time, "The thing is, as you saw on the end - what's real and what's fake, you don't know."
