In a new sneak-peak of the online documentary, "Life + Times," popular rapper Jay-Z hops on a NYC subway and strikes up a nonchalant conversation with an elderly woman. The best part - 67-year-old Ellen Grossman has no idea that he is a world-famous musician and the hubby of R&B goddess Beyoncé Knowles! Jay-Z was on his way to Brooklyn's Barclays Center to perform his final tour gig in October - and the adorable exchange between the Grammy Award winner and the pleasant bespectacled Grossman proves that some big-name celebs are just like everyone else!

During their short convo on the R train, the two exchange introductions after Grossman eventually asks if Jay-Z is famous (given all the cameras and screaming fans). The "Watch the Throne" star humbly responds with, "Yes, not very famous, you don't know me...but I'll get there someday." He then explains that he makes music and that he is on his way to the final concert of his eight-night gig celebrating Barclays' opening.

The short clip hit the web on Tuesday (Dec. 4) and soon went viral.

Following the interaction, Grossman researched up on Jay-Z... and now has a much better understanding of just who it was she was chatting with on the subway:

"In general I have poor face recognition unless I know someone really well. I was aware Jay-Z was famous and existed, but I didn't know how famous," Grossman tells the Washington Post. "I've become much more aware of what he's done and who he is. And as I checked him out, I realized, how embarrassing that I didn't know who he was! There were all these photographers and a crowd of happy people around him, and security people. So it sort of dawned on me as I was looking around that he was someone famous."

As for Grossman, she is an artist and longtime NY resident.
