It looks like Ireland is no longer just a land known for it's drinking. Today, the beautiful country is making headiness for another reason: being the first country to legalize gay marriage. And as we were guessing, Hollywood celebrities are ecstatic. Which is exactly why they all seemed to turn to Twitter to show their praise after hearing the news.
The Associated Press reports that following the announcement, Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny stated, "With today's vote, we have disclosed who we are: a generous, compassionate, bold and joyful people."
Ireland's pro-gay marriage vote was an outstanding victory, with more than 1.2 million people voting 'yes' to the bill, and less than 750,000 opposing.
