Based on the popular cartoon series, The X-Men '92 marks the returns of the animated Wolverine, Gambit, and Jubilee in Marvel Infinite Comic's event, Secret Wars. The mutant superhero team is back in action in The X-Men '92 #1, writers Chad Bowers, Chris Sims and artist Scott Koblish.
As we previously mentioned, Secret Wars features the Marvel superheroes from alternate realities coming together to meet in an epic standoff. The Marvel's superheroes and super-villains will be forced to defend themselves for the survival of their universe. There will be no Marvel Universe, no Ultimate Universe, or any other, just Battleworld.
Also known as X-Men: The Animated Series, Night of the Sentinels introduced Jubilee, a teen mall rat, who discovers she is a mutant with special abilities. The Mutant Registration Program has created The Sentinels to track down, capture, and eliminate mutants. The X-Men come to the rescue of Jubilee when a Sentinel attacks a mall, in front of civilians.
In the plot synopsis, Baron Kelly, ruler of the Westchester domain, has called upon the Clear Mountain Project for assistance. The mysterious new director has to deal with the mutant menace. By any means necessary, the X-Men have to be put to a stop. As part of the "mutant rehabilitation," the "Free Range Sentinels" will be released.
In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Sims teases what to expect in the digital series, "X-Force shows up in Chapter 5 of the Infinite Comic, issue #3 of the print edition, and there's a much bigger roster of characters showing up in the background than you might think. Plus there's... well, I guess that'd be a spoiler if I said. You'll know by the end of the first issue that we're going for a villain that the '90s X-Men never fought."
We mentioned before, we have 5 reasons why we're rooting for Miles Morales' survival in Ultimate End #1.
X-Men '92 #1 is available now for purchase on the Marvel Comics app.
