Demi Lovato Credits Sober Life to Wilmer Valderrama: 'Neon Lights' Singer Thanks BF

Demi Lovato might have had a rough go of it during her teenage years, but the former Disney star is opening up today about her road to recovery, being sober for many years, and the one person who stood by her side through all of it. While the road to recovery might not have been an easy one for the 22-year-old star, she has been clean for a while now and stands as an empowering role model for young girls all over the world, but she does say that there is one person that she needs to thank who has made all her success possible. Demi revealed that she credits her boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama with helping her get and stay sober.

In an interview with Huff Post, Demi says that without the help of the former star of That 70's Show that she doesn't know if she would be alive today.

"I wanted to give him a lot of credit that he never takes," the star told the site. "He'll never take credit for a lot of my sobriety and my recovery but I guarantee it, I wouldn't be alive without him today."

As for her relationship with Valderrama, Just Jared reported on why the two lovebirds are never in the tabloids.

"For us, we wanted to keep our private lives private, and we still do," the star says of the more than almost five-year relationship. "People are seeing us more together. We thought you know what, paparazzi gets us, whatever, but, we're in control of what we're able to post online, so we've very open about our relationship."

It seems that the openness might be why the tabloids don't feel the need to post about her and her beau, so much, as they have no secrets.
