Robert Ballard is on his quest to discover and prove that the Biblical flood did in fact exist. The archaeologist that discovered the Titanic says he found evidence in Turkey of a lost civilization that was swept away on a massive flood.

In an interview with ABC he said, "We went in there to look for the flood. Not just a slow moving, advancing rise of sea level, but a really big flood that then stayed... The land that went under stayed under."

In the 1990s, geologists William Ryan and Walter Pitman found evidence that a flood did occur in the Middle East about 7,500 years ago, which may lead to more evidence about Noah's Ark, the enormous ship that was built by Noah to gather two of each creature, male and female to repopulate the earth.

The Guardian reported a theory stating, the original shoreline of the Black Sea had been submerged by a channel pushed by the Mediterranean Sea through which is now the Bosphorus.

According to ABC, Ballard had been investigating and searching for almost 10 years for answers and last year, his team found a vessel and one of its crew members in the Black Sea.
