Miley Cyrus' Dog Dies: Mourns Death of Tiny Pup Lila on Twitter, Yorkie Mix Hospitalized Two Months Prior, Starlet 'Can't get Out of Bed'

Miley Cyrus can't get out of bed - and it has nothing to do with partying too much the night before. The pop star recently confirmed the sad news on Twitter that her beloved Yorkie mix pup Lila has died. The tiny canine just turned two-years-old last month, but had been experiencing health problems as early as October when she was hospitalized for unknown reasons. Cyrus, an avid animal lover who owns several pet dogs, is currently mourning the death of her adorable pup and has confirmed to fans through tweets that she might be MIA for a while so that she can properly grieve with fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

On Tuesday (Dec. 11), Cyrus sent out the tweet:

@MileyCyrus: "Can't think of one good reason to get out of bed today...."

When some fans expressed concern, the 20-year-old starlet followed up with:

@MileyCyrus: "for everyone asking... I have never been so hurt in my life. My heart has never been so broken..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away."

She went on to explain:

@MileyCyrus: "Broken. Gonna go MIA for a bit. Need some healing time. Thank you to everyone who has sent love my way. I need it."

@MileyCyrus: "can't sleep. i miss my baby girl...."

Cyrus is someone who would do anything for her dogs... she even plans on protecting them when it comes time to sign a prenuptial agreement with future hubby Hemsworth (read more on that here).

It looks like complications concerning Lila's health started back in October - Cyrus sent out this tweet at the time:

@MileyCyrus: "please pray for my baby girl Lila...She is in the hospital. I am so heart broken. Please send out vibes for her to not be afraid & to heal."

Cyrus was very close with young Lila, posting pics of their adorable human-canine friendship all over Twitter and even claiming at one point:

@MileyCyrus: "Why would I need human friends? dude, Lila will ALWAYS love me & that's more than we can say about most humans."

Along with Hemsworth, Cyrus has the loving support of her other pups Ziggy, Floyd, Happy, Mary Jane and newly adopted Penny Lane (as well as her PETA rescue pig Nora!) - so hopefully the former "Hannah Montana" star can grieve and heal properly. R.I.P Lila.
