Smackdown Spoilers 6/4/15: Kevin Owens Hosts NXT Championship Open Challenge

WWE taped the June 4, 2015 edition of Thursday Night SmackDown from Houston on Tuesday, and the show features Kevin Owens' Open Challenge for the NXT Championship.

The show begins with WWE World Heayweight Champion Seth Rollins, who insults The Shield. He turns his focus to Kane and says he does not need The Authority's help. Dean Ambrose, who still has possession of the championship belt, cuts a promo from the TitanTron.

The Primetime Players defeat The Ascension and The Lucha Dragons in a match to determine the No. 1 Contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championships. Titus O'Neil pins Viktor for the win. After the match, The New Day cuts a promo backstage.

Ryback defeats Stardust in a non-title match with Shellshock.

Renee Young interviews Paige, who says The Bella Twins have ruined the Divas division. She said if you don't like the world as it is, then you need to change it, and that's what she plans to do.

Kevin Owens defeats Zack Ryder in the NXT Championship Open Challenge after he cuts a promo on John Cena.

Renee Young interviews Sheamus, who says he will win the Money in the Bank ladder match after he defeats Roman Reigns in their match tonight.

Neville defeats Kofi Kingston with the Red Arrow.

Lana is a guest on Miz TV, and Miz asks why she abandoned Rusev when he needed her most. He brings out Rusev, who apparently wants to make peace. But she refuses, and he berates her again. Dolph Ziggler then emerges and Lana leaves with him.

Reigns defeats Sheamus when The Authority interferes and Kane chokeslams Reigns. Kane then reveals he will be in the Money in the Bank ladder match. He attacks Sheamus and Reigns until Ambrose comes out to make the save, and the babyfaces stand tall as the show goes off the air.
