Jon Batiste got one of the biggest breaks of his life this week and it has everything to do with Stephen Colbert's Late Show. With every late night show, their must come a band and the current educator and humanitarian from New Orleans will lead the new Late Show. While Batiste has worked with the likes of Stay Human, Prince Wynton Marsalis and Lenny Kravitz, this will be the most exposure he has ever gotten. He'll be taking the helm as bandleader in September 2015 once Colbert takes over for David Letterman.

On the Today Show Colbert gave a simple answer as to why he chose Batiste.

"People keep asking me who my new bandleader's going to be. Well, I like this guy," Colbert said. "So good. His music makes the audience feel so good, we may have to install a 'Do Not Make Love' sign."

Batiste's most recent album, Social Music, reached #1 on the Billboard's Jazz Album chart. He has also appeared on HBO's Treme and as Da Organist Tk Hazelton in Spike Lee's Red Hook Summer.

Outside the world of mainstream, Batiste was appointed the Artistic Director at Large of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. His job there has been educating, and assisting with programming.

Batiste was recently named one of ARTFINO's 30 Under 30 most influential people in the art world. He's also a Movado Future Legend Award recipient and one of the youngest Steinway Performing Artists of all-time. His first album on a large record label will come at the same time as his Late Show debut. This fall big things are coming for Batiste.

Now that we know who the new Late Show host and band is, how do you think the new show will turn out? Will Stephen Colbert and Jon Batiste do a great job filling in for Letterman?
