Ryan Lanza, 24, Kills 27 In Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting In Newton, Connecticut [New Update]

Police were called to a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. According to the Hartford Courant, police reported the gunman, Ryan Lanza has been killed, 27 deaths, and several wounded children.

Although, two guns were discovered at the scene, reports ok a second gunman are unconfirmed according to CNN.  Authorities are reporting that the gunman was 24-year-old Ryan Lanza. Allegedly, Lanza was carrying four weapons and wearing black attire protected by a bullet proof vest. The gunman arrived to the elementary school shortly after school began around 9:40 a.m. 

According to the Associated Press, authorities claim that there are 27 deaths which included 18 children. CNN had spoken to a parent that witness the incident and claims that the school psychologist and principal Dawn Hochsprung were killed in the shooting. CBS claims that Lanza was one of the students father. 

Initial 911 call from the school were in regards of a shooter in a classroom filled with children. Students were led outside in a single line and walked to a nearby fire station. The school district sent out text messages and emails alerting parents and hoping that the children are safe from the terrorizing events.
The school has about 626 students between kindergarten and fourth grade and 46 faculty members. A spokeswoman for Western Connecticut Health Network told News Times said the Danbury Hospital's emergency room staff is prepping there wing for the victims.
