Many women have dreamt of finding their perfect wedding dress all their lives. The search is often exciting and emotional. But for those brides with curvier figures, it can be especially trying when most stores only carry smaller sample sizes. Enter Yukia Walker and Yuneisia Harris - sisters and owners of Curvaceous Couture, a first-of-its-kind bridal salon specializing in couture gowns to fit all body types, and stars of TLC's new series, Curvy Brides.

MStars News reporter Star Connor spoke one-on-one with Yukia and Yuneisia after they made it their mission to help curvy brides look and feel amazing in the right dresses for their figures on their special day. The spirited sisters are living their dream as they help women of all shapes and sizes in TLC's new series, which airs on Friday nights at 9:30/8:30c.

The sisters first thought of their idea to open a specialty bridal boutique after Yukia had an awful experience shopping for her own wedding dress in 2008. Unable to find a dress in her size, Yukia needed Yuneisia to try on gowns for her. With limited options available, Yukia was forced to buy a dress that she didn't feel comfortable in. It became clear to the sisters through this experience that the market was seriously lacking. Every bride deserves a bridal moment they will remember forever and a dress that fits, no matter the size. And from there, Curvaceous Couture was born.

Some of the hit TLC show's past episodes have included Yukia's journey as she redoes her wedding photos, this time in a dress that actually fits and compliments her figure. On another episode, the sisters hosted a fashion show at the salon to promote their growing business. One suprise included, a special guest Whitney Thompson, America's Next Top Model Season 10 winner, comes in looking for a dress and ends up strutting down the catwalk.

Yukia and Yuneisia bring a lighthearted spirit, humor and passion to this family-run business. From their annual Sample Sale and adventures at New York Bridal Market, to dealing with plenty of personalities at the salon and exploring Yuneisia's dating life - it's all open for discussion between these sisters. Curvy Brides is an inspirational reminder to women that you don't have to be a size 2 to look beautiful on your big day.

Star Connor: How did Curvaceous Couture begin?

Yukia Walker: "I got engaged 2007 and the first thing I wanted to do is go and find an amazing dress that I was going to wear on that day, so I packed up the family made a bunch of appointments at all these local salons. At that time I was a size 14 and I'm thinking that's the national average size, and I didn't think we were going to have a problem so we hit the stores and nothing fit me."

She continued, "People were throwing dresses around my neck ...squeezing me in gowns it was awful. It got to the point where my sister, Yuneisia [Harris] at the time was a size 8 started trying on all of these wedding dresses for me. I just ended up with a disaster. Not only didn't they fit her well, but we don't have the same body types."

So when things went wrong the sister finally made a decision to start their own bridal shop for full figured women.

Yukia Walker: "I ended up with a dress that I hated on my wedding day. It was over exposed I was miserable, and we just didn't want that to happen to anybody else."

Star Connor: How is it working as sisters with a business?

Yuneisia Harris: "Honestly we believe strongly in laughter. Even when we don't see eye to eye....because as you can see on the show sometimes we don't agree on budgets...we joke we each other about it. So I think in our whole 6 in the half years we've only had like 2 major fights, and our mother comes in and makes us squash it. It really is easy, we're best friends outside of the store as much as we're with each other inside of the store. I guess we're all we have so we make it work."

Yukia Walker: "I think it's been great because as you've seen over the years I've had some children, health issues, and I couldn't have imagined not having Yuneisia or somebody that I trust to keep the store operating and running as well as she's been at it."

Star Connor: What are some tips for women looking for that "perfect dress..." do you cater to just curvier girls or all sizes?

Yuneisia Harris: "Our sample sizes start at a size 14 and we go up to a size 44 here. Naturally the smallest of our samples would fit perfectly as bridal can fit would be a size 10. We've had girls come in to our store that were like a size 2 before and they just wanted to be around our family atmosphere."

She added, "We don't discriminate. I feel like some bridal stores have discriminated against the more curvier brides in the past, but if a size 2 walks in we're not going to kick her out the door. She's going to have a tough time trying on our dresses, but we can order for anyone."

Yukia Walker: "Our average bride tends to be between a size 16 and I would say 34. So we do cater more to the plus size market but we do get women who just want to be here...they're like family."

Star Connor: What are some tips that a more curvier bride should know when shopping for her dress?

Yukia Walker: "Best thing that a plus size bride can do is find a store that actually caters to them so that they can try things on. Don't trust somebody to take your measurements and then order a dress that you've never tried on, because you might not need that extra fabric. If you're able to try it on, and able to work with people who are very familiar with the makings of a larger dress sometimes I think you save money that way."

Yuneisia Harris: "You have to come in with confidence. A lot of struggle with certain parts of our bodies and are really nervous about 'oh my god it's a strapless dress, I don't want to wear that' we try to tell our brides to come in with an open mind because the majority of bridal gowns are different from your everyday dresses."
