Erica Campbell Tells 'BEING' About Being Sexy and Christian

Saturday, Gospel singer, Erica Campbell sat down with Centric for season 4 of their hit show, BEING to reveal what it's like walking in faith as a Christian, being "saved" and sexy.

In the religious world, it is hard for celebrities and singers like Erica to stay straight and on the right path with people judging every tiny detail of your life.

MStars News has learned over the years of covering Mary Mary, Erica and Tina Campbell's group together, that the two sisters have received major backlash for their personal struggles, including Tina's husband, Teddy Campbell's cheating scandal. Erica herself has caught fire for some of her clothing choices.

In her documentary, the singer said "Being Erica Campbell is being caring, nice, being loved. Knowing that no matter where I go someone's praying for me." She added, "I just view myself as a regular girl who is so, so blessed."

When it comes to her style, Erica talked about one photo that became her solo album cover. If you don't remember the sexy "white dress" that made headlines for being too daring, here is a flashback:

Mrs. Campbell said "When I took the picture I was like, "that's special."' She explained: "God put me in the skin that I'm in and so I own it fully. As long as no matter what I put on me, you can see what's shining through me, and it shouldn't matter."

She talked about the controversial "white dress"  that she never expected to cause a scandal, saying, "That darn white dress, Warryn had given the direction for the photo-shoot. He said, 'I want a clean, very sleek, very beautiful look for the Help album."'

She continued "I sent the picture to my husband, I sent the picture to my mom and my sisters. I have curves, I'm a curvaceous woman, there's no sin in that."

Her husband also revealed that he too "loved the photo."

Her husband also revealed one fact about Erica that many of her fans probably didn't know about him.  Warryn had a girlfriend when he first met the singer.

It was during a play that Warryn first heard his future wife's voice.

"The first time that I met Erica, she was in a play," Warryn stated as his mother revealed that he was there with his girlfriend at the time.

"Out on the stage walks Erica. She sang...and I'm like "Oh God...immediately it was like nobody was there."

The Grammy-award winning singer talked about life growing up in Inglewood, California to a large family with 9 brothers and sisters.

As a daddy's girl, Erica said, "My dad worked at the Post Office...when you have that many kids, you're just going to face challenges."

"Your parents didn't have a lot of money, and you moved around and you were on welfare," she explained about her childhood while chatting with students at a local private school.

"I learned to love myself a little bit more."

Erica also revealed that she hated it when she had to join the "grown up choir," but someone told her that "it would pay off one day," in the future.
