Hide your toddlers! A youtube video of a golden eagle grabbing a baby in Montreal has gone viral. Youtube user MrNuclearCat, uploaded the scary video which focused on the eagle until it swooped down and grabbed the toddler when its parent wasn't paying attention.
The eagle didn't make it far with the child. When the camera man realized the baby was captured he quickly ran and tried to alert the parent. The two men scared the eagle and the strong bird dropped the baby, who was startled and began to cry. Although the image looks real, some Youtube comments suggest differently, Opennewscast wrote, "I've been working with digital images professionally for 15 years, and I'm convinced this is fake. The swoop down at 0:10 looks just like cheap CGI to me."
Another user claimed that the footage was real and that golden eagles are capable of grabbing a baby, Dusty696969 says"Golden eagles are known to do this. People even train golden eagles to help hunt wolves. I don't know why people are so fast to pass judgment that its fake. I know CGI is so easy now days but not everything is fake. "
Golden eagles are protected by law and are the largest bird of prey in North America according to National Geographic. The eagles can dive at their prey at 150 miles per hour and have a wingspan up to 7.5 feet- perfect for hunting and picking up babies.
