A couple of weeks ago, MStars News reported that it looked like Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane had somehow predicted Caitlyn Jenner's now-famous transition on an episode of his animated series. Of course, it's all just a coincidence, but the Internet had a frenzy, noting that the Ted 2 star-writer-director knew ahead of time that Jenner would one day become who she truly wanted to be: a woman.
To promote the release of Ted 2, MacFarlane recently participated in a conference call and was asked about the Family Guy scene, in which Stewie Griffin calls then-Bruce Jenner "an elegant, beautiful, Dutch woman." Brian, of course, corrects Stewie, telling him that Bruce is a man. But Stewie doesn't seem to agree.
Check out the scene below:
When asked about it, MacFarlane reportedly came back saying that he's "too savvy to comment on the issue to the media."
Furthermore, he added, "Once the outrage industry shuts down, I will be happy to have an adult conversation about all of this stuff anytime anyone wants, but, even though I'm on the side of support, I just don't think there's any way to– you just got to play it safe because the climate is just too charged. Anything I say can and will be used against me."
He continued saying that if something makes a person happy, and they're able to fulfill that as long as no one is being hurt, "live and let live."
Readers, what are your thoughts on MacFarlane's comments?
