Aaron Hernandez was once a top tight end in the NFL with the New England Patriots. These days, the fallen star sits far away from the field in a prison cell for the murder of Odin Lloyd. Now, Hernandez and his legal team are going on the offensive against the jury that gave him the guilty charge. The former tight end claims that the jury was out to get him from the beginning and he hopes to have his conviction overturned because of it.
Hernandez's legal team says that new court documents show a flaw in the Odin Lloyd murder case. They say that he received a tip from an anonymous woman claiming that one of the jurors knew Lloyd and was hoping to get on the Hernandez jury.
The biggest roadblock the defense team has is having no knowledge on the identity of the woman. She called from a blocked number. The woman who gave his legal team the information said she was afraid. The judge in the case will now rule whether the matter needs to be looked into further. On the Hernandez side of things, the fact his legal team doesn't know the woman's identity may complicate their cause.
Here's what some people on Twitter had to say about it.
