Celebrity Apprentice star – and once-upon-a-time respectable businessman – Donald Trump has officially announced his run for President of the United Sates in 2016. Trump made the announcement earlier this morning at Trump Tower in New York City, largely because he's too afraid to step anywhere that isn't gaudily plastered in gold. During his speech, it looked as if Trump Tower was jam-packed with fans, many of whom seriously wouldn't stop shouting during the speech, but all of whom were eager to hear the Republican candidate's announcement. As for Twitter, well, those reactions seemed to vary.
TMZ had the live broadcast of Trump's announcement, and below you can see a small snippet.
While his speech hit a lot of different subjects, including letting President Barack Obama retire early to play golf on one of his many courses, Trump seemed to really hone in on one thing: jobs.
"I will be the greatest jobs president that God has ever created."
And for the folks who didn't see the press conference, it was a lot of the above. Meaning that he rattled off and boasted about his accomplishments throughout the years. Though, in truth, the guy is undoubtedly successful so we can't argue there.
Take a look at TMZ's snippet from the press conference below:
Now, for the debate – let's check out what Twitter had to say:
