Last Thursday the man who is best known as the American Dream Dusty Rhodes passed away. The Dream was 69-years-old and his passing rocked the wrestling world. Nobody saw it coming. This week TMZ Sports obtained the 911 call made by Rhodes' wife after Rhodes collapsed at his Florida home. The operator who took the call seemed as if Rhodes' wife inconvenienced him.
During the call Dusty's wife was frantic:
"I need help. My husband has fallen. He's very sick. I need help," she said. After saying that the operator snaps at Rhodes' wife. "They're coming as fast as they can. Me talking to you is not stopping them." When this exchange finishes Rhodes' wife gets off the phone and you hear the operator, clearly annoyed, sighing because she didn't answer one of his questions.
You can hear the exchange between the Dream's wife and the exasperated operator right here.
Help finally arrived for Rhodes and his frantic wife but by then it was too late. Paramedics arrived at the scene at 5:56 a.m. Wednesday morning. The Dream was too far-gone and he passed away in the hospital the next day. Sources close to the family say Rhodes suffered from numerous complications throughout the night and that was the reason he passed away the next morning.
His wife and 4 kids survive Rhodes. They came to his bedside immediately after finding out what happened. Two of those children are currently WWE Superstars. Goldust's career spans through several eras of wrestling and Rhodes's youngest son in the business, Cody Rhodes, is one of the top talents on the WWE roster.
