Of all the things to have happened to comedian Marc Maron over the years, we're assuming talking to a President is not one of the things he assumed he'd be doing. But as luck (or work and effort) would have it, it appears the WTF podcast host and star of IFC's Maron may very well be interviewing President Barack Obama on his oh, so popular podcast next week. But with the recent, and terribly unfortunate, Charleston church shooting that recently took place, we're not so positive it'll go down with the POTUS.
Largely because, and no offense to Maron, President Obama might have to deal with some other things first.
The news of Obama's possible appearance on Maron's show came during the podcast episode dropped today with return guest Judd Apatow. Maron, who usually starts his episodes with an intro, couldn't get through the beginning ten seconds because he was so excited... and nervous... and neurotic.
"I can't even do the intro! Let's just deal with this, all right?" Maron said in the beginning. He then alerted listeners and urged them to sit down because he had a big announcement.
"If everything goes as planned," Maron said, "On Monday, I will post a WTF, an episode of this show that you're listening to now, featuring myself in conversation with, talking to, at my home in my garage, me talking to President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. THAT is what's happening Monday."
On Maron's WTF page, the comedian assured listeners, "Did I mention next week will be massive?"
Now, should President Obama actually make an appearance on WTF – which, by the way, if Obama actually goes to Maron's garage, that's incredible – it won't be the first time he's been spotted on the comedy circuit. The POTUS made waves when he appeared on Scott Aukerman and Zach Galifianakis' Between Two Ferns.
Readers, do you think Obama should go on WTF?
