Capital Steez, whose real name was Jamal Dewar, a member of Brooklyn rap collective, Pro-Era is dead. He was 19.
The cause of his death is not yet known, but it is believed he committed suicide. At about 11:59 pm on Dec. 23, he Tweeted, "The end."
Capital Steez was a member of Rapper, Joey Bad A$'s crew. They were riding high on the success of their latest mixtape "PEEP: The aPROcalypse." But now they are all mourning the loss of Capital Steez.
"This unfortunate xmas eve.. Lost a best friend, a brother, a pro, a partner. Letting go is never easy.. May ur soul rest in peace Jamal..," Tweeted Joey on his page. "RIP CAPITAL STEEZ!!! 7.7.93 - 12.24.12."
"SICK TO MY STOMACH...," Joey wrote. "It just haven't been the same since my homies death... part of me still doesn't believe this."
Steez came into the rap scene with his eye-catching and ear-pleasing single "Survival Tactics."
Capital Steez had released his own solo mixtape "AmeriKKKan Koruption" in April, in which Bada$ also featured.
He also made appearances on Joey Bada$'s 1999 mixtape from earlier this year.
