Former Nirvana member and drummer Dave Grohl will be performing at the Sundance Film Festival at Park City, Utah with a new band Sound City Players. He is also premiering a new documentary, "Sound City," his directional debut.

The movie will feature guests and musicians but the line-up is still a secret. Though Rolling Stone predicts the movie might include collaborations with singer Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, Australian singer-songwriter Rick Springfield and former Beatles singer Sir Paul McCartney. McCartney and Grohl performed with Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear for a Nirvana reunion at 12-12-12 Sandy Relief concert.

The movie "Sound City" is about the Sound City recording studios in Van Nuys, California that has been closed down. In its heyday, the studio had Neve 8028 recording console. The console was purchased by Grohl in 2011. Nirvana's "Nevermind" album was recorded at the Sound City in 1991, Rolling Stone reported.

Grohl has been playing for the Foo Fighters since 1994.
