Jeremy Renner Gay Rumors, Divorce Scandal: 'Avengers' Actor Responds to Negativity

It's a very common occurrence that any popular Hollywood actor is plagued by rumors of their sexual preferences, but what happens when one star addresses this controversy head-on? In a new interview with Playboy, Jeremy Renner responded in a very great way to the speculation claiming he's gay, which has risen ever since his divorce from Sonni Pacheco for "fraud." We all know that you've heard of some big name actor that some people on the Internet are swearing is gay. When Renner thinks of this, he turns it into a positive!

"I'm not going to try to prove what I am or am not," the actor explained, according to ABC News. "It's silly, right? When you Google yourself and the first thing that comes up is 'Jeremy Renner gay,' it's like, 'Oh, now you've arrived. You're now a giant star.'"

Renner wasn't done, though. The actor revealed that he was angry that this is considered a negative rumor and that the nation has come a long way, so he doesn't view it that way (via UPROXX).

"I don't care, ultimately, if that's what people want to think, read and care about. F----- say whatever the hell you want about me. Look at where we're at socially - leaps and bounds ahead of where we started. That's an amazing thing," Renner continued. "To suggest that it's negative, that being gay is a terrible thing, a perversion or whatever - I just don't get it."
