Forget about all those pesky divorce rumors when it comes to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi's relationship. It is being revealed that the TV talk show host and her wife of seven years are proving that they are very much together and sticking by each other's sides. In the light of the SCOTUS decision that allows for gay marriage to become legal in all 50 states, Ellen and Portia are deciding to celebrate in a major way, as the couple is in the planning stages of renewing their vows.
According to Radar Online, while the duo has been plagued with rumors and reports of their tumultuous relationship, they are looking to put all the negativity behind them and start on a new chapter of their relationship together. What better time to do that then with the momentous Supreme Court decision?
The site is reporting that Ellen, who just launched a lifestyle brand, has big plans to take the ceremony to Louisiana, which is where she is originally from.
"Ellen wants to renew her vows with Portia in her hometown of Louisiana," an insider explained to the site.
DeGeneres has been a trailblazer for gay rights, and since the court handed down the decision Ellen has gotten an outpouring of messages thanking her for all she has done for the community.
"Since the ruling, Ellen has gotten a ton of emails and tweets thanking her and Portia for paving the way for gay marriage to be recognized nationwide," Radar reported.
Variety is also reporting that Ellen has influenced gay rights more than any other celebrity, according to a new poll. So it would only make since that the most influential gay rights activist would renew her vows to celebrate the SCOTUS decision, right?
