The latest installment in the Terminator franchise, Terminator: Genisys, is about to hit the big screen once again. The cast and crew of Terminator: Genisys, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kyle Clements, Emilia Clarke, and Jai Courtney dazzled at the Los Angeles premiere red carpet event.
As we previously mentioned, when John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to the year 1984, it's not the same 1984 he was told about. Reese still has to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) but his mission to safeguard the future has failed. An unexpected turn of events has created a fractured timeline. Now, Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies. Together they have a new mission; reset the future.
Clarke tells Variety about the inspiration she drew from the original James Cameron movies, "I saw them all in the cinema and then I went back and watched them again. You think about making the connection, lining up your dots in terms of what went before and where we decided to pick it up at."
To the same site, Dayo Okeniyi describes the feeling of working out the Maggie actor, "I walked down to the gym to work out and there's Arnold, working out. As somebody who obsessively watched his Mr. Olympian videos, it was just crazy to me. I didn't work out because I'm not going to be embarrassed by some 70-year-old guy."
Director Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) adds, "We started off quite consciously in the script replicating scenes from the original to say, 'You've seen this before, you think you know where this is going,' and then we wrench off in a new direction.'"
