The Season 4 finale of Suits ended on USA Network with a major cliffhanger. As Season 5 of Suits continues, will lawyers Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) need some "Compensation" from the fallout from Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty)?
At a restaurant, Rachel (Meghan Markle) is talking to her father over dinner. Robert (Wendell Pierce) wants her to sign a pre-nu but she doesn't want to. Elsewhere, Mike meets with an associate and tells him he's getting married. Harold still has feelings for Rachel and is heartbroken when he hears about the engagement news.
Harvey meets with Donna, who has coffee for Louis (Rick Hoffman). Litt meets with Jack Soloff (John Pyper-Ferguson), who has plans to cut Harvey's salary. Harvey meets with candidates to replace Donna but only one of them stands out. He then hires Gretchen (Aloma Wright) on the spot, with no introduction on her part.
Harvey is mocked because of his new secretary. Mike is then given a new cas, which could help a lot of people. During the meeting, Soloff pitches his proposal about cutting Harvey's compensation. Louis tries to get Harvey's attention but his whole plan backfires on him.
As Mike hears his client out, Harvey argues with Louis, calling him jealous. He tells Louis than he has been paying for Donna's salary, not the firm, all this time. Louis says he will pay for Donna's salary out of his own pocket; she doesn't need him.
Louis finds out from Jessica (Gina Torres) how much Harvey paid for Donna. Mike then hands over the pre-nup contract to Rachel. Mike wants to feel comfortable telling him these types of bad news. Gretchen makes a joke to Harvey that he's not "manly" enough.
Mike tries to show Robert what kind of man he is and presents him the case he's working on. Robert knows Mike is a great lawyer but someone will take something of his. Mike will cross the line, which is why Robert wants to protect his daughter.
Louis and Harvey have a loud conversation in front of Jessica. After kicking Louis out of the room, Jessica warns Harvey that he's taking out his anger on him; clouding his judgement. Jessica then wants Mike to dump his case because it won't bring the firm any money.
Louis intends on working with Jack to make a fool out of Harvey. Mike meets with another firm to make things right with his case, but his plan backfires. Donna confronts Louis to keep him from going overboard, but she loses.
Mike tells Rachel that he went to meet with her father. He never had a father who would try to protect him. Harvey has a new offer for his client and shakes his hand. Louis and Harvey apologize and hug it out. Unfortunately, everyone in the firm knows how much Harvey makes because of Louis.
Rachel asks for Jessica's advice about the pre-nup. It could protect him but it undermines her relationship. Rachel loves him all the way, which is why he shouldn't sign. Mike realizes he was given the case because it was a personal vendetta.
Jack tells Harvey that the senior partners are mad at how much money he makes. Harvey and Louis continue to argue with each other. Their confrontation leads to Harvey knocking on Donna's door.
Donna realizes Harvey is jealous after he reveals he has been paying her salary. Mike brings to gift to Robert and asks for his help on the case. They're going to work together on the case.
Harvey warns Louis that he will walk into his office and find Donna gone; he's going to make it happen.
