Reports confirm that Kristen Stewart will star in award-winning director Ang Lee's upcoming war comedy-drama, "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk." The film's star-studded cast includes appearances by Steve Martin,Garrett Hedlund, Vin Diesel, and beloved comedian Chris Tucker. But will the "Rush Hour" funnyman's current legal situation involving Netflix delay the highly-anticipated flick's scheduled 2016 release?
According to the infamous gossip webloid TMZ, 43-year-old Tucker and the popular online movie-streaming service are now being sued by fellow comedian, Terry Hodges.
Tucker's new stand-up comedy special premieres via Netflix on Friday (July 10). Apparently, Hodges did lots of work (editing, writing, acting, producing, etc.) for the gig, but was never paid. He teamed-up with Tucker back in 2008, and has yet to receive full payment since 2011. So now he's suing for up to $66,000 in (traveling) fees that he paid for out-of-pocket.
Oh, and Tucker "promised" to name him co-producer, but that never happened, either.
According to the "Friday" actor's attorney Marty Singer:
"This lawsuit is absurd and completely without merit. We fully expect this case to be thrown out by the court."
MstarsNews fans will just have to wait and see! But hopefully this doesn't hurt the final production of "Longtime Halftime Walk," since it makes for a pretty awesome cast and crew. The movie (written by Simon Beaufoy/Jean-Christophe Castelli and based on Ben Fountain's original novel) follows "an infantryman who recounts the final hours before he and his fellow soldiers return to Iraq." It's still scheduled to hit theaters on November 11, 2016.
Meanwhile, K-Stew just celebrated July Fourth weekend with friends over in Paris. The 25-year-old starlet's latest flick "American Ultra" premieres in August. Despite recent Robert Pattinson "heartbreak," her career continues booming:
